Welcome to my Friday issue of Peak Performers, sharing my latest podcast episode and practical insights to help you stand out, lead with confidence, and land better opportunities.

As always, a big thank you for all of your support 🙌

Hard truth: If no one knows what you’re doing, you’re invisible. But if you talk about your wins the wrong way, you're annoying. The answer? Show, don’t sell.

3 quick tips and scripts to self-advocate without it feeling cocky or awkward.

(1) Make it about the business, not yourself.

Example: “This quarter, our team hit a 28% lift in engagement after the rollout. I led the execution plan behind it, and I’m excited about how it’s driving traction.”

(2) Pull others into the spotlight. Give credit early, and also outline what you specifically contributed.

Example: “We’ve had great momentum on [project]. Shoutout to [name/team] for helping bring this to life. I led the [specific piece], which helped us land 2 weeks ahead of the initial deadline.”

(3) Tie your results to bigger goals. Bragging feels small. Context feels strategic.

Example: “This outcome brings us one step closer to our next quarter goals. It’s been motivating to see the strategy translate into real results.”

💡Pro tip: Use “update” language to disarm the tone. Statements like “I wanted to share a quick update”, “What’s working so far”, or “Something that’s been gaining traction” keeps it low-key but powerful.

Remember, you’re not bragging. You’re building your perception and reputation. If you don’t own your wins, someone else will.

You've got this!
