1. Lead like you already have the job​

You don’t need permission to step up. You just need precision in how you show up.
The best leaders don’t announce it, they demonstrate it.

2. Anchor in action and impact​
​
Leadership is focused on clarity, ownership, and forward momentum. Make your work about what the team gains, not just what you did. Communicate in outcomes, not effort.

→ "Here’s what I’ve taken ownership of, the results so far, and where I see opportunity to go next. What else should we be solving for?"

3. Don’t wait, create!​
​
Leadership moments don’t just magically appear. You make them. Look for gaps in alignment, inefficiencies, unclear priorities, or cross-functional friction. Step in with a bias for progress.

→ "I noticed [X issue] is slowing us down. I’ve mapped out a simple way to fix it. Would you want me to take point on this and move it forward?"

Pro tip: In meetings, speak before you’re called on. Share your point of view early with a focus on the team’s goals. Wait too long and you’ll miss the power play.
